This Privacy Policy explains how marketingconferences.net ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our site. We keep data collection minimal by design.

We do not collect passwords, social media profiles, or any data beyond what is listed above. We do not require account creation to browse the directory or submit a conference.
2. Analytics
We use Umami for website analytics. Umami is a self-hosted, open-source analytics tool that is privacy-friendly by design:
- It does not use cookies.
- It does not track you across websites.
- It does not collect personally identifiable information.
- IP addresses are used only to derive approximate country/region and are not stored.
Umami runs on our own servers — your analytics data is never sent to a third party. No cookie banner is necessary or displayed.
3. Payment Processing
Sponsor subscription payments are processed by Stripe. When you complete a purchase, Stripe collects your payment card details and billing information directly. We never see or store your full card number.
Stripe may share your billing email address with us to associate your subscription with your sponsor slot. Stripe's use of your data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely to operate the Site:
- Conference submissions: Name and email (if provided) are used only to contact you about your submission. They are not used for marketing and are not shared with third parties.
- Sponsor subscriptions: Billing email is used to manage your subscription (send receipts, notify you of billing issues).
- Analytics: Aggregated, anonymous traffic data is used to understand how the Site is being used and to improve it.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
5. Data Retention
- Conference submissions: Retained for as long as the conference listing exists in the directory. Deleted listings are permanently removed from the database.
- Sponsor data: Retained for the duration of the subscription and for a reasonable period after cancellation for billing record purposes.
- Analytics data: Retained indefinitely in aggregate, anonymized form.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted HTTPS connections (TLS), server-side password hashing, and access controls on our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Third-Party Services
The Site links to external conference websites and sponsor sites. These sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us at rob@firmpromote.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you submitted a conference and want your name or email removed from our records, use your claim code to delete the listing, or contact us directly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
